"I grabbed this book because I was tired of watching our bank account drain and credit card balances rise, all the while wondering where the heck our money was going. And quite simply put, this changed everything for us within the first month.

The "makeover" is a set of 7 baby steps, but before the steps comes the cornerstone of the whole program: a written budget and a cash envelope system. The book covers why you need a written budget, and boy, it was true for us. Sure, I had a mental idea of what our bills were. But writing everything out let me see ALL the little things I tend to forget about, and how quickly they add up. The book helped us make a "zero based" budget, meaning we earmarked every dollar coming in for a specific purpose (rent, groceries, gasoline, etc.) Then comes the cash envelope system, which helped us make an immediate 180-degree turnaround on our spending. The book covers why cash is better than plastic (debit as well as credit), as well as how to create cash envelopes for each spending category and stuff them with the budgeted amounts. No more accidental overspending!

The rest of the book goes over the baby steps, a systematic, do-these-in-order money tasks to kill debt and build wealth. Each step's chapter also includes personal success stories. • After years of hearing and reading about The Total Money Makeover, I finally grabbed myself a copy and read the whole thing in one night. While I would not call myself a Dave Ramsey fan, there was definitely value in the book. He has 7 steps he suggests moving through
  
  1. Save $1000
  
  Pretty straight forward. You need a bumper for the small emergencies. Shit happens.
  
  2. Debt Snowball
  
  The debt snowball approach is something quite valuable that took reading about in this book to fully grasp and get behind. It’s quite simple in its brilliance actually. You make a list of your debts from smallest to biggest (excluding mortgage) and focus all of your financial effort on one debt at a time (making only the minimum payment on all others), working your way down. Once you cross one off, you divert all the money you were paying on that debt to the next, with the payment size growing at each step. We only had 2 debts (1 car loan and the consolidated student loans) so it wasn’t too complicated. Still, it was helpful. I had been focusing on building the savings but diverted my attention and resources to stamping out the car loan instead. I can see how this technique could be life-saving for people who are overwhelmed with debtors.
  
  A main tenet of his book is that we can and should all be debt-free. There is a lot that resonates with me about living a debt-free life and this is a message I hope more people hear and get inspired by. Minimalism and debt-free are very good friends. Though I’m not dogmatic or militant about it. There are times when debt has been advantageous in my life but we don’t take it lightly, only entering into it consciously, with eyes wide open and a clear plan.
  
  3. 3-6 Months Expenses in Savings
  
  Building up and maintaining a savings of 3-6 months expenses is the next focus only after all debts are paid. Companies go under. Employees get laid off. Freelance work experiences a drought. People get sick. Life happens. You need an emergency fund to get you through the hard times. In today’s professional climate, this is even more essential than in the past because the old working model of clocking in at 20 and retiring from the same company at 55 is dead. (I recently read The End of Jobs, which I recommend if you want to read more about that.) 3 years is actually the sweet spot in terms of job satisfaction and performance for being at a company. If you’re changing jobs every few years, the transitions can be sticky. You need a buffer.
  
  4. 15% to Retirement (401K, ROTHIRA, Mutual Funds Investing)
  
  There is one line he hammers throughout the entire book over and over again “If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else.” He means that if you live a shitty life in your prime, you might enjoy a nice life when you are old and retired. Most of his examples throughout the book glorify families in which the parents work 3 jobs and rarely see their kids but by golly, they might have a nice savings if they make it to old age running themselves ragged. This is the heart of his philosophy and it’s one I completely disagree with. My philosophy is definitely more in line with Tim Ferris in that regard who urges you not to sacrifice your present for a future that may never come in the 4-hour work week (Ramsey actually even throws shade at Tim’s approach in this book). Particularly when there are children involved. My kids would rather have us present and be happy, healthy, rested, and homeschooling with a student loan floating out there than have us be absent working 3 jobs while they are in school and daycare with no student loan. These years are so important and while being debt free and financially healthy is a priority (we don’t use credit, we snowball, we budget, we save, we contribute to retirement), it is not the priority.
  
  5. College Fund (ESA funded in growth stock mutual funds)
  
  I appreciate that he does include a bit about college not being a golden ticket. If you want to read more about our approach to college for our 3 kids, check out Sage Homeschooling Wild and Free.
  
  6. Pay off Mortgage
  
  This is where I hop off the Dave Ramsey train entirely. I know someone who had 3 houses paid off and then the real estate market crashed and they lost everything. I don’t plan to stay in the same house my entire life and I am happy to purchase a property with a mortgage, fix it up with a tight budget and lots of elbow grease, and sell it several years later when we are ready to move on to a new adventure (freedom of mobility). Also, the nation’s average income ($50K) paired with the cost of housing in a major city ($710K in Seattle), don’t line up for buying a house all cash. Again, his mindset around this is painfully outdated. The person he is talking to gets hired by Blockbuster out of college, works there 35 years, then retires and dies in their rocking chair on the porch. Norman Rockwell called and he wants his financial advice back. That is just not the world we live in anymore.
  
  7. Build Wealth (invest)
  
  He claims the only way to get rich is to invest in the stock market.
  
  Overall, it’s a book worth reading. The first 3 steps alone should be knowledge every teenager launches knowing. The philosophy is not my jam and I could certainly do without the patriarchal overtones and bible verses, but a quick and easy read that adds value nonetheless.
  
  I was hoping for some budgeting inspiration but found none in this book. I’m presently trying You Need a Budget. We’ll see . . .

• Good book. Life changing! In 4 months, I paid off my car loan, all credit cards and doctor bills!!! About $6,000 total. I increased my credit score to a 747. Started at a 660.
• If you've read The Total Money Makeover, you don't really need this workbook. But if you haven't read Total Money Makeover, I wouldn't use this as a substitute - just go get the Total Money Makeover instead.
  
  The baby steps are pretty straightforward
  Baby Step 1 – $1,000 to start an Emergency Fund - you'll find this way easier than you expect to.
  Baby Step 2 – Pay off all debt using the Debt Snowball - this takes a LOT of patience, but you can do it.
  Baby Step 3 – 3 to 6 months of expenses in savings
  Baby Step 4 – Invest 15% of household income into Roth IRAs and pre-tax retirement
  Baby Step 5 – College funding for children
  Baby Step 6 – Pay off home early
  Baby Step 7 – Build wealth and give
  
  The rules are simple
  1) Live and breathe by your budget.
  2) Attack your debt with a vengeance. Think about how your debt is holding you back and get mad at your debt.
  3) Don't stray from the path.
  4) As Dave says, "Live like no one else so you can live (and give) like no one else."
  
  I listen to the podcast as well and it helps keep me thinking forward and remembering why I started my journey. Dave Ramsey's work can be life-changing, but you have to follow it to the letter. Don't try to do your own thing. That said, know that the rules are available widely online, and Ramsey didn't create this philosophy, he just made it easier to understand than anyone had in the past.

• This series has really taken a turn. The author still tells a good story and the characters are well grounded, I just had a rough time with the changes in the last couple of books. I was attracted to time travel but I don't believe in reincarnation. It's just weird
  I would read this author again if it didn't follow this path.
• This review is for the Series -- consistently enjoyable reads Absolutely inspiring -- every book in the series! -- well-developed characters, and wonderful story lines -- all stand-alone novels (though most are more meaningful if read in order) -- and very different kind of read. Earlier, I had read 3 of these books, out of sequence, and loved each one so much that I decided to start with the first and read them in order. While definitely stand-alone reads, there is some cross-over in some of the stories that made the reads much richer. I loved reading them straight through from 1-12. I will read #13 next and any that Ms MacLean adds to the series. This is a very special series, and the stories touched my heart.
  
  Great character development, inspiring and intriguing story line, and great editing. A pleasure to read any book by this author.
  
  I rated 11 of the 12 I read with 5-stars, and one a 4-star.
  
  Update I grab up each new addition to this series! Never disappointed!
• The Color of Forever is an enjoyable read that kept this reader turning pages. The story travels back in time sharing the past and coming back to the present time as things begin to unfold for the main protagonist, Katelyn.
  
  Katelyn has a flashback that reveals she has lived before. This flashback consumes her. She enlists the help of her friend, Bailey, to find the portal to travel back again.
  
  When Katelyn meets two men that she feels a connection to from a past life things become complicated. She must make a choice.
  
  This is a fascinating premise, different from time travel, but equally intriguing. This is the first book in this series that I have read but it won't be the last.
• I m not much for contemporary romances. Love regency, midevil, victorian, scottish.
  
  This book floored me. I never wanted it to end It was a beautiful story and a combination of comtemporary and victorian unbelievable.
  
  I did not mention I was not crazy about time travel either. While this is not a time travel, it does relate in a way.
  
  All that to say this is a timeless love story, one that drug me in from the very beginning, I was very satisfied with the ending.
  
  I have said it before. I love her other series immensely and while this had no sex besides innuendos it was utterly fulfilling, the story line kept you engrossed and needed no filling out.
  
  I recommend this book whole heartedly.

  There are numerous recountings of the plot, so you probably don't need to read another one. Instead I'm going to tell you how i felt as I read the book. Each section felt as though it were a color transparency gently placed upon a light table and, as the book went on, each new transparency was placed upon the previous ones, creating a beautiful montage that, when put together, became something new and beautiful.
• An extraordinary novel began with a bicycle accident where she knew she is married with a son. Trouble is she is divorced and childless. The journey taken to find the truth or understand her memories takes her from Seattle to Portland, Maine. Becoming comfortable and accepting her memories is a journey that few take and even fewer understand. Julianne MacLean is an author I will definitely follow and read. The depth of the writing leaves the reader with a need to know more about the subject.

• This is a comprehensive and disturbing overview of the pervasive harm caused by Facebook. Google and are mentioned in passing. Most of it deals with Facebook. After reading this, one is very well informed about the extensive methods and psychological tools used to create Facebook addiction, as well as, more generally, tools used for mass persuasion.
  Unfortunately, the author's innate progressivism permeates. Throughout the book, the author repeatedly refers to 'hate speech', extremist views, and 'conspiracy theories'. As an example of the latter, he brings up Alex Jones and the site Infowars – but ignores or is ignorant of - the fact that much of Jones' content dealt with true examples of law enforcement abuses – exactly what Black Lives Matter (who he enthuses over repeatedly) was supposedly organized to fight. He calls for people with divergent views to 'talk' to each other – but progressives have demonized disagreement as 'hate speech' or 'gay bashing (same sex marriage), or 'denier ism (climate change), 'white privilege (financial success, ironically except for Zuckerberg, Bozos, etc). This worldview overlay dilutes the very real hazards of technology only an aggressive government regulatory response is his answer. Except for DuckDuckGo, which is a browser that doesn't track users, no private sector solutions are mentioned. Chapter 14, “What About You”, is short on concrete steps individuals can take right now to protect themselves, and long on calls for 'public pressure' to force external action.
  The author regurgitates every current progressive trope and buzzword Trump as the devil incarnate whom the Russians got elected, hate speech, conspiracy theories, government regulation as the only solution, inadequate public school spending responsible for disengaged adult citizens, the Democratic party as America's saviors, George Soros as a savior, and so on. Yet there's no mention of the progressive philosophies that underpin Facebook – collectivism and a belief in a higher-ordered visionary ruling elite. The capture of American education by tech companies which began in the 80's, is mentioned in passing.
  Absent is any free market solution, except for generalized calls to encourage competition. Nor any solution other than government agencies tasked with micromanaging online content, what constitutes acceptable speech, and encouraging opposing views. He even calls for a click box labeled 'opposing views' for users to click on! Who would develop content for this is ignored. It is hard to imagine an NPR or MSNBC viewer seeking 'opposing' views. If they did so now, there wouldn't be the 'filter bubble' problem he repeatedly refers to. Why the assumption that 'hate' speech – which is dog-whistle speak for what the left opposes – must be censored? The author should be advocating for more openness, not less. Let all ideas be tested in the marketplace of ideas, as was basically the case for the past 200 years.
  This book does an excellent job of laying out the problems caused by Facebook, but what could have been a wide-ranging examination of what is probably the biggest challenge to modern life is narrowed by the author's narrow worldview. By all means read it – but recognize the progressive proselytizing.
• The first chapter almost discouraged me from reading more because of the author’s name dropping and shameless self-promotion of his band.
  
  But I’m glad I kept reading. The book’s substance grows with each chapter, crescendoing into a convincing alarm for the survival of democracy.
  
  The only post-Chapter-1 annoyances were the author’s admission after hundreds of pages that he still uses Facebook (probably for his band) and the perfunctory disclaimer so common among fellow Ivy Leaguers that Zuckerberg and other Facebook employees who repeatedly lied and violated user trust since the company’s inception “aren’t bad people,” just good people confused by narrow-minded business forces.
  
  It’s time to redefine bad people as people who do bad things, even if that includes folk from the white and other-toned Ivy League chumocracy.
  
  Zuckerberg repeatedly demonstrated sociopathy or psychopathy since his days at Harvard, and probably well before — qualities great for shareholder value. The author describes Zuck’s known transgressions in detail over and over. It shows how VC people turn a blind eye to unscrupulous behavior and assume good can come from evil then act surprised when a lizard matures into a dragon. To quote, Zuck, “Dumb f—s.”
• I've been working in Silicon Valley for 30 years. I'm very cautious to listen to the rich elites like McNamee. McNamee makes a fortune on the shoulders of young, immature, arrogant kids like Zuckerberg. So should we now pat him on the back for acknowledging things went wrong. Facebook is Zuckerberg's first job. Zuckerberg had no industry experience prior. Zuckerberg became a billionaire at 23. Zuckerberg was known as essentially screwing over those who helped get him there. All of those things, and more, should have been cause for concern for the ethical future of any Facebook. Instead, however, investors on Sand Hill road just kissed his feet for a chance to make millions. And now we're supposed to buy their book about how Facebook and social media is bad and is destroying Democradcy? Where was McNamee 12 years ago when books like the Cult of the Amateur came out and laid out many cases for why social media wasn't great? I'll tell you where he was getting sickly rich off of it. As such a guru and mentor to Zuckerberg, why didn't he drive the company the right direction? My guess, Zuck simply wouldn't listen and that hurt McNamee's ego and so now he's getting revenge by writing this book. Meanwhile, if McNamee had gotten out among the elder rank and file even 12 or 15 years ago you would have gleaned a lot more about the evils of social networking. In other words, the rich elites are out of touch and, as such, are surprised at what many much wiser industry alums had already predicted. Maybe McNamee should eat lunch with a veteran technical worker instead of his investor buddies once in a while.

Provides the essentials in just the right amount of detail to introduce the reader to the topic.

I will challenge myself to read this again in a few months. A difficult, but very useful read.

• My son has recently become obsessed with fishing, and I am rediscovering the fun of it after having not fished for decades. I was looking for a nice intro to the sport to refresh my memory, and bring my son into the fold. After a quick scan on I ordered this book based on the overall rating. It's nice, but not quite what I was looking for, and after a few minutes reading it I realized why. It's basically a collection of fishing related articles that probably appeared in Field & Stream at some point or another, loosely organized into a book. There's no real narrative thread, and a lot of pre-existing knowledge is required to get the most out of it. I'm planning on keeping it, because there's some useful stuff in it (e.g., how to make a worm farm) but I'm going to have to order another more basic intro guide to help ramp up our knowledge before we can get the most out of this. If you're looking for a "beginner's guide" type of book I would recommend looking elsewhere and then picking this up once you've got the basics down.
• If you have been fishing a lifetime, this book probably won't offer much to learn. That being said, for the young adult or child, this makes a great read. One of the biggest deterrents to involving young people in fishing is having a skunk day where you catch nothing and miss out on one of the greatest experiences in life, landing a fish for the first time. With the tips and lessons in this book, you can make your way to the water with a little more confidence than before and you will catch more fish, which is the key to a lifetime of enjoyment of fishing. The broad spectrum of topics makes this a great introduction book, but there is so much more to cover than one book could provide. This is the starter for a lifetime of weekends in a kayak on a creek battling smallmouth and rock bass, or just a bucket of worms and bobbers for some farm pond bluegill. Start here and never stop fishing.
• This book is just beautiful. I've purchased many books and most aren't in color and don't have nice thick pages or have illistrations on every page that keeps you entertained while reading like this book does. The book itself in terms of material just screams quality I would have loved to see a review specifying that fact I am quite surprised they did not charge more for this book but then again I might not have purchased it if they had. It has all the information I have always wondered about. If your like me and have ever been walking in a store in the sporting goods section and were thinking wow tons of lures I wonder how you would even use them or when to use them or how they would be effective or what works best trust me this book explains it all from building your own lures to store bought lures to various techniques. I have only glanced it over not read it through yet but I do believe they are missing a section for net fishing. Over all excellent because it teaches the novice alot.
• Excellent book. It describes how to catch dozens of different species of freshwater fish (plus a few salt water species). It shows you how to tie knots, what type of bait to use, where to fish for each species, the best type of line and tackle to use, etc., etc. It contains dozens of photos of various fish along with photos of the best lures and baits to use for that particular fish. The descriptions and instructions are very easy to understand, and the color photos are superb. About 95% of the book involves freshwater fishing techniques. The other 5% dabbles in saltwater/inshore fishing. The paper is of high quality and the soft cover is very durable. This would make a great gift for anyone who mainly fishes in fresh water. It's a classy book that I like to keep on my coffee table.
• I purchased this book for a Christmas present for my Brother-In-Law who enjoys Bass fishing. Well, really, fishing in general. As an avid fly fisherman myself, I read other reviews, and the product description and decided to purchase this for him. When it was delivered I spent a few moments combing through it to make sure I didn't just waste a money on something he'll never read. It was one of his favorite gifts, and he spent the entire time reading it Christmas day! Now I need to buy myself one )
  
  You can google all of the free information you want (trust me we have), but it's never going to be put together in such a perfect way as this book puts it together. The pictures are stunning, and the information contained is worth a read to any fisherman - even the pros! It sits nicely on a coffee table, and the book layout makes it so you don't feel obligated to read it cover to cover - although you'll find yourself doing just that because of just how great the book reads. You don't need to be a fisherman to find this book interesting to read, and it may just be the thing to get people you know interested in fishing.
  
  Both of us are now on pins and needles to wait for this upstate NY weather to warm up so we can put some of these skills we learned from this book out on the stream and catch some beauties!
  
  If you're reading this review, you're hesitating too much on purchasing it. Buy the book. Buy two - one for you and your fishing buddy. You won't regret it.
• I didn't actually expect more. And honestly, there aren't a lot of good non-fly fishing books. While many techniques are the same, a lot of the books available are from the 70s and 80s and spend a lot of time discussing equipment of that era. So, this book certainly fills a gap in my library, and it is better than what I was forced to consider the previous best general use books (the idiots and dummies guides, though I would still recommend those as well). If you are a person who gets a lot of in-depth fishing technique info online, then this may not be the book for you. If you, like me, like to have reference books at home, then I think it may be a book for you. The main problem with the book is depth, everything is covered so lightly that it is like a sampler. If anything catches your eye you will likely have to look other places for an in-depth explanation of how to do it and how to adjust it to your choices of location and gear. There are other small issues. I would have rated it 3 stars if it were not for the fact that there isn't anything better.

"Four and a half stars for Laila and Chad's story in My Unexpected Hope. It's been several months since I read Katie and Asher's story in My Hope Next Door, so a few chapters into MUH I went back and skimmed thru the MYND to refamiliarize myself with all these characters, since their lives are so intertwined. Ms. Gray portrays, so heartbreakingly well, the stark life of an addict and those who love them, and are loved by them. Laila kicked Chad out, changed the locks, and divorced him over a year ago, after he broke promise after promise about his addiction to booze and drugs. Chad flees to Atlanta, several hours away, because he's in debt to the local dealer and everyone knows what happens to those who don't pay up! Even though cutting ties with Chad was a desperate life saving move, Laila is still so fragile inside, and is almost ready to move to the neighboring town to make a fresh start with Ben, the kind, quiet, solid Christian man she met at church in the new town. He doesn't know everything about her past with Chad, and she's trying to keep her two lives separate. But, as things go, Laila's two worlds collide when Ben shows up at her job and someone contacts Chad and he returns -- sober and trying to stay under the radar of Slim, the drug dealer, but desperate to win Laila back. There is so much pain in these lives that you long for a safe place for each of them to find peace, and hope. Ms. Gray does a good job of maneuvering us through all the minefields that could lead to happiness. Her characters are maturely fleshed out and the story is well developed. I stop just short of 5 stars due to some last minute plot machinations that strain the bands of believability. This story will wring you out like your grandma's old time washing machine, but in a real good way! Hope there is another book coming for this series! Would love to hear what happens to Cooper, who we first met and seemed all but unredeemable in MHND, but was a good friend to Chad in MUH."

She thinks she is right on track when, a bombshell shows back up on her front porch after years without so much as a word.
  
  I won’t spoil the book for you but, man this is an awesome book! Picking up a few months after “My Hope Next Door” left off, you see Laila in the best place she has been in a long time. She is on the road to mending a broken relationship with her childhood best friend, Katie (the main character from My Hope Next Door). Through this relationship she is seeing that she can’t change Chad. Chad must make the decision to change himself. This takes a huge weight off her shoulders. However, it still doesn’t fill the hole in her heart.
  
  Chad’s life has drastically changed in the last nine months. He has gotten sober, got a job, kept the job, and started building a life outside of the drug world. Chad is a living testament to all the struggles of those faced with a life of addiction. However, his struggles are only just beginning when he stands face-to-face with Laila on what was once “their” front porch.
  
  “My Unexpected Hope” is so much more than a love story. Tammy L. Gray weaves a life-like epic that will have you riding a full range roller-coaster of emotions throughout. In my opinion, she is a master of writing characters who could be your neighbor or someone else you know. Trust is so easy to lose but, so hard to win back. We all can relate to a situation where trust has either been won or lost. Can Chad regain the trust of Laila and ultimately rebuild the marriage he let fall apart? Can Laila see past years of hurt and broken promises from the one who vowed to cherish her above all else? Read “My Unexpected Hope” by Tammy L. Gray to find out.

• Four and a half stars for Laila and Chad's story in My Unexpected Hope. It's been several months since I read Katie and Asher's story in My Hope Next Door, so a few chapters into MUH I went back and skimmed thru the MYND to refamiliarize myself with all these characters, since their lives are so intertwined. Ms. Gray portrays, so heartbreakingly well, the stark life of an addict and those who love them, and are loved by them. Laila kicked Chad out, changed the locks, and divorced him over a year ago, after he broke promise after promise about his addiction to booze and drugs. Chad flees to Atlanta, several hours away, because he's in debt to the local dealer and everyone knows what happens to those who don't pay up! Even though cutting ties with Chad was a desperate life saving move, Laila is still so fragile inside, and is almost ready to move to the neighboring town to make a fresh start with Ben, the kind, quiet, solid Christian man she met at church in the new town. He doesn't know everything about her past with Chad, and she's trying to keep her two lives separate. But, as things go, Laila's two worlds collide when Ben shows up at her job and someone contacts Chad and he returns -- sober and trying to stay under the radar of Slim, the drug dealer, but desperate to win Laila back. There is so much pain in these lives that you long for a safe place for each of them to find peace, and hope. Ms. Gray does a good job of maneuvering us through all the minefields that could lead to happiness. Her characters are maturely fleshed out and the story is well developed. I stop just short of 5 stars due to some last minute plot machinations that strain the bands of believability. This story will wring you out like your grandma's old time washing machine, but in a real good way! Hope there is another book coming for this series! Would love to hear what happens to Cooper, who we first met and seemed all but unredeemable in MHND, but was a good friend to Chad in MUH.
• Absolutely wonderful! A great story about second chances. It's a wonderful look at how a willingness to forgive can help move a life or lives forward. Wonderful character development. It wasn't a case of a quick fix. You felt the genuine hurt of the heroine. You felt the sorrow of the hero for the obvious pain he had caused. He characters had to grow and work through real emotions and hurts and real life to get to a place of common ground. You can relate to the characters and the story is believable. No sex. Genuine relationships being built on changing hearts and overcoming past hurts and mutual respect for one another.
  
  Thank you to this author for showing that reconciliation can be a possibility when all of the elements are there.
• Great book that pulls you into the story of this couple-their struggles, their fears, their hurts, their anguish as well as their victories, their hopes, their healing, and their redemption. You feel every ounce of Chad's remorse and his battles with temptation. Ms. Gray doesn't gloss over his struggles or the weight of decisions made, but she offers hope in the midst of it all. Laila thinks she's ready to move on, but she's not truly ready to let the new guy in, to let her life with him intersect with who she is, where she's from. In her attempt to move on, she’s really just running from her past. On their own, in their broken states, Chad and Laila can't make "them" work. They can't be what the other needs them to be. This book is the journey of them learning how to be with each other in a new way, a healthy way, a better way. At the end, you'll feel the relief of a real, new, fresh, clean start with them.
  
  Tammy L. Gray never fails to blow me away in how she deals with some of the most tragic circumstances of life while clearly showing the power of God to overcome, heal, and redeem. She never glosses over or minimizes the situations which only show God's mightiness to redeem any brokenness we face.
